Savoury Rice

Quick and easy it makes a great side dish with Bobotie or Roast Lamb!
  • 250ml rice
  • 1.5 litre hot vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 15 ml Sunflower Oil
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 1 medium Green Pepper finely choppped
  • 1 medium Red Pepper finely finely chopped
  • ½ cup green peas
  1. Bring the stock,tumeric and rice to the boil.
  2. Boil until soft. About 15 mins.
  3. Strain the rice.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.
  5. Add the peppers,chillies flakes and stir fry for a few minutes.
  6. Add the rice and the peas.
  7. Simmer on medium heat for another 5 mins.
